Get ready for a new supergroup of sorts as vocalist Jane Train has assembled some name players to join her in the new band Not By Sight. The group finds Train flanked by Saint Asonia‘s Corey Lowery, Evanescence‘s Troy McLawhorn and Sevendust‘s Morgan Rose and the power of their sound can be heard on the new single “Stand.”

“‘Stand’ is about overcoming adversity in life and using that adversity to strengthen and elevate you,” says Train about the song. You can check out a lyric video for the track above. Lowery produced and mixed the cut.

Train has had her fair share of adversity, having knocked around the music industry in a few different roles over the years. She joined her first band at the age of 12 and began playing clubs as part of a Led Zeppelin cover band while in high school. She eventually formed the group Little Sister for a period before getting into songwriting, working with guitarist Joe Lynn Turner. She’s also supported herself through jingle work and serving as a backing vocalist for Turner and Liz Phair.

Eventually crossing paths with Lowery and McLawhorn in 2014 during a run of playing military shows, they decided to record music together. An invite was extended to Rose soon after and a new album is currently in the works.

With Rose and Lowery currently tied up with Sevendust and Saint Asonia respectively, the Not By Sight touring lineup has found Train and McLawhorn joined by Device guitarist Virus, Call Me No One bassist Rek Mohr and Eye Empire drummer Ryan Bennett. For now, enjoy Not By Sight’s “Stand” in the player above and keep an ear out for more music coming from the group.
