AXL ROSE To Discuss GUNS N’ ROSES Reunion On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Next Week

According to RollingStone.com, GUNS N’ ROSES lead singer Axl Rose will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” next week to address the talk about the classic GN’R lineup getting back together. Rose previously appeared on Kimmel’s late-night show in 2012, which marked the singer’s first live interview in 20 years.

As previously reported, GUNS N’ ROSES has been confirmed as the headliner for next year’s Coachella Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California, which is set for April 15 through April 17 and April 22 through April 24. The band is also currently in negotiations to do a 25-date football stadium tour in North America next summer for which they’re asking $3 million per show. The most expensive tickets for the shows are slated to sell for between $250 and $275.

Billboard reports that founding members Axl Rose and Slash will be featured in the lineup, with bassist Duff McKagan also reported to be involved. There is no word on whether original guitarist Izzy Stradlin or drummer Steven Adler will appear, although that seems unlikely. Consequence Of Sound says that Adler’s original replacement, Matt Sorum, is also on board, while other reports have suggested that current drummer Frank Ferrer and guitarist Richard Fortus will round out the lineup.

Representatives for the band, as well as Coachella producer Paul Tollett and agent Ken Fermaglich, could not be reached for comment by Billboard.

Speculation about a reunion tour has been steady ever since Slash revealed last summer that he and Axl had repaired their friendship after being estranged for nearly 20 years.

The last show Axl and Slash played together was on July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. The latest incarnation of GUNS N’ ROSES, which only included Axl from the original lineup, played a residency in Las Vegas last year but has remained silent since.

Two clues surfaced last week that sent the reunion rumors into overdrive: the GUNS web site disappeared and was replaced by the original lineup’s logo, while a mysterious teaser showing footage of a concert crowd with GUNS music playing in the background appeared in front of selected showings of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

The official lineup for Coachella — which has a reputation for hosting reunions by acts like RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and OUTKAST — will be announced on or around January 5.
