Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin has a bad habit of making headlines for the wrong reasons and the familiar trait resurfaced after a Jan. 30 show at the Adelphia Music Hall in Marietta, Ohio. The singer addressed the crowd and singled out one fan in attendance, accusing him of stealing his house. Upon finishing his statement, Scantlin put his jacket on and walked offstage, abruptly ending the show for the night.
Scantlin interrupted the show mid-song to deliver his anecdote, riddled with slurred speech as seen in the audience member-posted video above. The singer stated, “Motherf–ker right here stole my motherf–king house and now he’s standing right fucking in front of me laughing at me. And he f–king figures I’m a f–king joke.” Continuing the profanity-laced statement, he went on, “This motherf–ker right here. This motherf–ker right here. Get his ass on camera. Right. Get his ass on camera. Get his ass on camera. This is the dog. Right here. This is the motherf–ker right here. This guy stole my f–king house.”
The venue apologized to the audience in attendance with a Facebook post (seen below). Explaining that the event was out of their control, they made the generous offer of issuing a ticket to another show of their choice to anyone who was at the Puddle of Mudd concert.
The singer lost his home after it went into foreclosure in 2015 and was arrested for vandalizing his estate in the Hollywood Hills just last month. The offense was the latest in a laundry list of criminal activity Scantlin has been responsible for, which includes riding a baggage carousel in an airport, Driving While Intoxicated and Driving Under the Influence arrests and possession of a controlled substance.
