Bring Me the Horizon Offer Murder Mystery in ‘True Friends’ Video

Not only have Bring Me the Horizon changed their approach musically, but it appears as though they’ve upped their game visually as well. The band’s new video for “True Friends” reminds us that the video format can be a powerful storytelling tool, as is played out in an eerie murder mystery.

The clip was directed by Bring Me the Horizon’s own Oli Sykes and centers on a detective (Steve Oram) who is being haunted by his own past misdeeds. Slaughtered horses, messages left in blood and several intense confrontations for the detective lead him toward his ultimate fate. In the end, Bring Me the Horizon have generated one of the more chilling and intense videos of the year, with the lyrics factoring into the story as it progresses.

“True Friends” is featured on the band’s That’s the Spirit album, which has already yielded “Throne,” “Happy Song” and “Drown” for fans to check out. The disc is currently available via Amazon and iTunes.

Bring Me the Horizon just wrapped a North American tour and are back in Europe to finish out the year. Check out their remaining shows at this location.
