TWISTED SISTER To Be Joined By OVERKILL, ACE FREHLEY For Final Tri-State Area Shows

TWISTED SISTER will play its final tri-state area shows over the weekend of September 30 – October 2 at First Energy Park in Lakewood, New Jersey.

There will be a number of special guests, including:

Says TWISTED SISTER: “So many more bands to be announced that your head will spin! Plan on spending a three-day weekend with us! Details on which days each band will be playing will be announced soon!”

In a recent interview with Rock Cellar Magazine, TWISTER SISTER guitarist Jay Jay French spoke about the band’s status as an ongoing entity in 2016. He said: “This year is our 40th anniversary of me, Dee [Snider, vocals] and Eddie [Ojeda, guitar] together and this is it; this is the end. We’re playing some shows and that’s it. It’s the ’40 And Fuck It’ tour. [Laughs]”

Asked if it’s bittersweet for him to see TWISTED SISTER finally come to an end, French said: “Well, I don’t know. We already ended it once before and ended it for twelve years and got back together again. The reunion lasted a lot longer than I thought it was gonna last. The reunion has gone on thirteen years. I thought the reunion would last two years, so it’s really gone on a long time. We’ve accomplished an awful lot and released a lot of product. I mean, the movie [about TWISTED SISTER’s early days, ‘We Are Twisted F*cking Sister!’] is coming out this year and we have a CD coming up with some live shows from back in the bar days. There’s a lot that is going on.”

He continued: “It’s kind of like the last five minutes of a fireworks display as far as the history of TWISTED SISTER is concerned. When people doubt that this is the end, I tell them they shouldn’t doubt it. It is the end. I don’t foresee us playing ever again. These dates are it, but there’ll be plenty of product out there. But I think that the shelf life of the band live has reached [its] end, [and] that’s why the tour is aptly titled.”

Snider recently told The Washington Times about TWISTED SISTER’s decision to call it quits: “It’s not that I don’t love the guys. It’s not that I’m not proud of my past. I just want to leave with a certain degree of dignity. Leave people with a smile on their face. As opposed to them leaving, shaking their heads, saying, ‘I remember when they were really good.'”

He continued: “I had been saying to the band, ‘Guys, we’ve got to call it a day. At some point, there has to be an end. Now we have been reunited more years than we were together the first time.’ A reunion is not supposed to go on forever, contrary to what KISS does.”

Snider added: “When [drummer] AJ [Pero] passed away, the rest of the guys sort of said, ‘You know what, we get it. It seems a logical time to finish things up.’

“Our 40th year is coming up, so we decided it would be cool to do some shows to say goodbye.”

TWISTED SISTER’s movie, “We Are Twisted F***ing Sister!”, was released on February 23 on DVD, Blu-ray, VOD, and digital formats, with an included two hours of bonus material and director commentary.

“We Are Twisted F***ing Sister!” is a 134-minute documentary film by Andrew Horn. The film follows the band from their beginnings as a cross-dressing glam band playing four shows a night, six nights a week in New Jersey bowling alleys and Long Island beach bars, to the suburban mega-clubs of the late ’70s and early ’80s, to their bust-out appearance on the U.K. rock TV show “The Tube”.
