MÖTLEY CRÜE’s VINCE NEIL Sued By Investors In His Former AFL Football Team

According to Courthouse News Service, MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil is being sued by an investment group which claims it was defrauded in his ill-fated Las Vegas Outlaws Arena Football League franchise.

Outlaws Investment Group and Sohrob Farudi have sued Neil and a group of others in Clark County, Nevada for allegedly misleading them about the team’s finances. They also allege that Neil and other members of the Rockstar Investment Group falsely claimed to own the Jacksonville Sharks AFL franchise in Florida, and that they had been awarded an AFL franchise in Las Vegas, to be called the Outlaws.

Believing that the team was fully funded with $3 million, Farudi says he invested $500,000 in the Outlaws in August 2014, only to learn a week later that they still owed the AFL $2.5 million.

Farudi also alleges that Neil defamed him to print and broadcast media by “willfully, wantonly, outrageously, intentionally and falsely” accusing him of mismanaging the team. Farudi references an August 10 article in the Las Vegas Sun newspaper published under the headline, “Vince Neil clears the air on team’s ouster,” in which Neil is quoted as saying: “The investor was the managing partner who paid the bills and ran the team, business dealings, sponsorships and finances. That wasn’t our responsibility.

Neil has previously gotten involved in a number of businesses outside MÖTLEY CRÜE, including tattoo shops, a tequila line, a bar-restaurant chain, an airline, and has written an autobiography. He told the Upstart Business Journal in 2010: “I don’t want to do something just to do it — it’s got to be connected to my life. If you look at the things that I have, you’ve got the clubs because I love to get up and sing and I love to hear live music. The tequila fits into the rock and roll lifestyle. Tattoos, airplanes. I call it like all the vices. The only ones I don’t have are cigarettes and pornography.”

He added: “I’m almost addicted to starting something and watching it come to life, making it get bigger.”
