MÖTLEY CRÜE: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From ‘The Final Tour’ (Video)

Live Nation TV has uploaded a new video featuring behind-the-scenes footage from MÖTLEY CRÜE’s “The Final Tour”. The seven-minute clip, which includes new interviews with members of the band, can be seen below.

Speaking about his drum stunt “The Crüecifly” — which sees him bolted to a platform that moves on a roller coaster-type track near the arena ceiling, passing the band’s inverted-pentagram lighting rig and spiked disco ball and spinning him 360 degrees vertically, rendering him upside-down — MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee said: “The premise was, ‘We have to make this the most fucking insane thing that’s ever happened and no one will ever be able to pull this off. I’ve always, throughout the years, tried to come up with something new and different and entertaining. When people walk away, you want them to go, ‘Dude, I can’t believe what I just saw. That was insane.'”

According to MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, there is more to the band’s concerts than stunts and pyrotechnics. He said: “We don’t know how to do it any other way, but it’s almost always trying to find an edge. We were always trying to push it. But at the core, if you strip it all away, we’re actually a really good band. And that I’m really proud of. And the other stuff is we’re broken and demented and we want to push the envelope.”

MÖTLEY CRÜE’s “The Final Tour” kicked off last year and will end New Year’s Eve at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

MÖTLEY CRÜE first announced plans for their two-year “Final Tour” by signing a Cessation Of Touring Agreement at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, solidifying the end of their touring career with their last show ever on New Year’s Eve at Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles. Since the announcement the band has been touring tirelessly to say goodbye to fans around the world.

The 2014 leg of “The Final Tour” was one of last year’s top-grossing tours, selling close to a million tickets across 72 cities and grossing more than $45 million.
