Cancer Bats are calling extra attention to the first half of their moniker and will be spreading good deeds across Europe on their current tour. Frontman Liam Cormier is heading up a head shaving campaign for the Princess Maragret Cancer Foundation and Research Centre. Don’t worry, you can keep your luscious locks!

For now, Cormier is keeping his hair for the remainder of the tour, but will celebrate its end by returning to Toronto and hitting up Town Barber for an up close and personal meeting with a pair of clippers. While his donation will be in the follicle form, he needs help from Cancer Bats fans to raise as much money as possible between now and and Feb. 21. Anyone attending one of the shows can make a donation, even if its just a few dollars.

For those who are unable to attend, but still wish to support Cormier’s cause, donations can be made here.

Cancer Bats are out in full support of their fifth album, Searching for Zero, which was released in March of 2015. The band took some time off to enjoy life outside of the rigors of being in the cycle of writing and touring. Speaking with Full Metal Jackie, Cormier stated, “I own a motorcycle that I never ride. Let’s go and be real people. It was amazing to be able to do that and just even take some time to think about what we wanted to try on the next record without having to come up with that idea the next day. It was great.”

The campaign to raise money for cancer is especially poignant given the tragic losses the rock community has endured over the last month. The passing of Motorhead‘s Lemmy Kilmister and the iconic David Bowie have left a void that may never be filled. Lemmy learned of his terminal neck and brain cancer just two days before his passing while Bowie silently battled liver cancer for the last 18 months. On the uplifting side, Iron Maiden‘s Bruce Dickinson was diagnosed with cancer in early 2015, but has made a full recovery.
