According to The Pulse Of Radio, BRING ME THE HORIZON has donated $10,000 in merchandise sales from its current tour towards the medical expenses of former tour mates THE GHOST INSIDE, after the Los Angeles-based band was involved in a serious road accident in Texas in which their tour bus collided with an oncoming semi truck. Both drivers were killed, while all five members of the band and their crew suffered injuries.
BRING ME THE HORIZON announced the donation at its Facebook page, saying, “Our thoughts are currently with the band, crew and families of all involved in this horrible accident. We first toured with THE GHOST INSIDE in 2008 and have remained good friends with them since. Proceeds from our merchandise on this tour have been donated to a GoFundMe account set up to help with medical bills.”
BRING ME THE HORIZON also posted a link to a GoFundMe campaign started for THE GHOST INSIDE, which increased its fundraising target to $125,000 over the weekend. At press time, more than $127,000 had been raised.
Several members of THE GHOST INSIDE and their crew remain hospitalized, although all are said to be in stable condition.
BRING ME THE HORIZON’s fifth studio album, “That’s The Spirit”, debuted at No. 2 last month on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling 62,000 copies in its first week of release. The chart and sales numbers were career highs for the British act.
BRING ME THE HORIZON recently completed a North American headlining tour and is now doing the same in Europe.
