BLACK SABBATH last Friday (Janaury 15) posted the complete four-minute rehearsal video which the band previewed earlier in the week in advance of its upcoming “The End” farewell tour. According to The Pulse Of Radio, the clip showcases some of the deep cuts they’ll be dusting off for the trek, some of which — like “Hand Of Doom” — have not been played since the early ’70s.
Guitarist Tony Iommi says in the clip: “We’ve picked a few of the ones we haven’t played in a long time, as well, to add to the ‘Iron Man’s and ‘War Pigs’, which you have to do, and we love to play.”
Singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler said that they never get tired of playing SABBATH’s biggest hits. Ozzy said: “‘Paranoid’ never gets old. ‘Iron Man’ never gets old. You would think after 40 years I would be saying, ‘Oh, no, not ‘Iron Man’ again,’ but every time I play it, I play it like it’s the first time.” Geezer added: “The response from the audience that we get always keeps ‘em fresh anyway.”
Tommy Clufetos, who played drums on SABBATH’s 2013 reunion tour, is apparently back on board for “The End”, which begins on January 20 in Omaha, Nebraska.
The band revealed last week that it will sell a new limited edition CD titled The End on the tour. The disc will feature four previously unheard studio tracks left off the band’s 2013 reunion album, “13”, as well as live versions of four songs from the world tour the band did to support that disc.
Clufetos did not play on “13”, a role that was filled by RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE drummer Brad Wilk.
