SLIPKNOT’s Corey Taylor and DISTURBED’s David Draiman joined ZAKK SABBATH — the BLACK SABBATH cover band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE), bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson (OZZY OSBOURNE, ROB ZOMBIE) and drummer Joey Castillo (DANZIG, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) — on stage on Thursday, May at the Palladium in Hollywood, California to perform a couple of SABBATH classics: “N.I.B.” and “Fairies Wear Boots”.
ZAKK SABBATH’s performance took place immediately after the press conference to announce that Ozzy Osbourne’s Ozzfest and SLIPKNOT’s Knotfest are combining forces.
Ozzfest Meets Knotfest will take place September 24 and September 25 at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California.
September 24 will be headlined by BLACK SABBATH and include DISTURBED, MEGADETH, OPETH and BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. September 25 will be headlined by SLIPKNOT and include SLAYER, ANTHRAX and TRIVIUM. Tickets go on sale May 20.
Despite all the rumors about the couple’s split, Sharon Osbourne was on hand to introduce Ozzy at the press conference at the Palladium. Geezer Butler from BLACK SABBATH, Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan from SLIPKNOT, David Draiman from DISTURBED, Zakk Wylde of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, and Scott Ian of ANTHRAX were on hand as well.
Ozzfest marks its 20th anniversary this year, but this will be the first edition of the fest since 2010.
