SIXX: A.M. To Release ‘Rise’ Single In March

SIXX: A.M., the band featuring MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx alongside guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael, will release a new single, “Rise”, on March 1. The track will appear on a forthcoming first volume of a double album, due later this year.

Of the single’s message, Sixx said: “We are not a political band, but we are extremely reflective. During the making of this album, we were under the same media siege as the rest of the world, so ‘Rise’ came out of that and hopefully reminds people that we all have a voice.”

Michael added: “Throughout history, some of the most dramatic changes have occurred when people reject the status quo and demand change. ‘Rise’ is about how we find ourselves at a global tipping point and how it is our duty as citizens of this world to come together, communicate with one another and rise up to demand more of ourselves and our leaders.”

Ashba stated: “‘Rise’, to me, is a message of empowerment. It will take on a personal meaning to everyone who hears it, but the message is the same. Whether it’s an individual trying to overcome their own struggles, or a nation as a whole, we can all rise above the negativity, if we stand up for what we believe in.”

SIXX: A.M. will tour the U.S. this spring. In Michael’s video message below, he announces the launch of a demand campaign, urging fans to request the band perform in their city.

SIXX: A.M. recently hired Dustin Steinke of the Canadian rock group BLEEKER (formerly BLEEKER RIDGE) as its permanent drummer.

Steinke made his live debut with SIXX: A.M. in February 2015 at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan as part of Vampark Fest hosted by the rock band VAMPS.

Nikki previously said that SIXX: A.M.’s new effort would contain over 22 songs and would be tied in with a 24-month world tour.

SIXX: A.M.’s third album, “Modern Vintage”, was released on October 7, 2014 via Eleven Seven Music.
