Rock is alive and well and being passed on to the next generation. If you need further evidence of this, then we suggest checking out the fan-shot video above which finds legendary rockers Scorpions sharing the stage with 12-year-old guitar prodigy Brandon Niederauer.
The bushy-haired third generation Scorpions fan was invited onstage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center to join his favorite band will performing a rousing rendition of their classic hit, “No One Like You.”
As the youth headed toward the stage, he shared that “Rock You Like a Hurricane” was the first song and guitar solo he ever learned at the young age of 8. “The Scorpions’ music is a big influence on my playing,” said Niederauer. Like many youths of his age, he became a fan of the band while hearing their music in video games. Niederauer is set to grace the Broadway stage this fall in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s School of Rock, which launches on Nov. 9.
Scorpions Saturday night performance was streamed live on Yahoo. The veteran band is celebrating its 50th anniversary, while also promoting the Return to Forever album. Check out their current tour dates at this location.
