Halestorm‘s Into the Wild Life has been one of 2015’s top albums and for those who haven’t heard the whole disc, the band is giving fans a chance to hear some of the deeper cuts on the album. The group recently revealed an acoustic rendition of “New Modern Love” from the album and now they’re sharing an acoustic performance of “What Sober Couldn’t Say.”
The band entered Atlantic Records’ studio in New York City back in April of this year to record an acoustic session and that’s where both of the performances come from.
As you can hear, the song is about a person trying to leave a bad relationship. Guitarist Joe Hottinger told Team Rock (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), “Sometimes you do have to be drunk to say what you really mean, and this is a heavy story about getting out of a situation that you shouldn’t be in.”
“What Sober Couldn’t Say” is featured on Halestorm’s Into the Wild Life album, a disc deep with solid material. Loudwire’s staff recently chose the disc as our 2015 Rock Album of the Year. See the full list of the 20 Best Rock Albums of 2015 here.
