This week’s episode of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?‘ features Creed / solo vocalist Scott Stapp. What’s true or false about his career, personal life and struggles with drug addiction? You’ll find out in this clip!
After an extremely revealing interview (see below) with Stapp about his recent meltdown caused by drug abuse and an undiagnosed case of bi-polar disorder, Scott was nice enough to stay for a round of our signature game.
Sometimes Wikipedia gets the very basics wrong, like Scott Stapp’s birth name, for example. After correcting that falsehood, we went into Scott’s childhood and estrangement with his biological father, whom he recently reconciled with. We also get some great stories about the early days of Creed.
Funnily enough, Scott Stapp corrected Creed bandmate Mark Tremonti from the guitarist’s own ‘Wikipedia’ episode. Tremonti burst out laughing when he heard Wikipedia’s take on the story behind “Higher,” claiming it was not only false, but ridiculously false. However, when we asked Stapp about “Higher,” he cleared things up in an unexpected twist.
Scott also sets the record straight on a past suicide attempt, the song “Overcome” being written about rapper T.I. saving Stapp’s life and much more.
