Due to overwhelming fan demand which caused an immediate sellout of tickets for their concert on May 7, CHICKENFOOT today announced that they’ve added a second show on May 8 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. The concerts, taking place over Cinco de Mayo weekend, mark the supergroup’s first reunion shows in more than six years.
The group, which includes legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, former VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar, ex-VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith, plans to rock Tahoe with hits from “Chickenfoot” and “Chickenfoot III”, including “Sexy Little Thing”, “Big Foot”, “Oh Yeah” and many more.
Tickets for newly added show on May 8 will go on sale Friday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. PST via Ticketmaster.com.
Fans will have an opportunity to get advance tickets during the pre-sale beginning Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. PST. Get your tickets using the pre-sale code “FOOTSOLDIER” at Ticketmaster.com.
CHICKENFOOT’s last performance together was during a surprise three-song encore at Hagar’s 2014 birthday bash in Las Vegas. The concerts on May 7 and May 8 in Tahoe will be the first time in over six years that the band will reunite for an entire concert.
CHICKENFOOT has not made a CD in five years but recently returned to the studio to record a new track, “Before I Die”, to be released later in the year.
Hagar described “Before I Die” as “the coolest song that we’ve maybe ever had. It’s really bluesy and edgy and modern and it’s fucking cool.”
CHICKENFOOT reissued its gold-selling 2009 self-titled debut as a double-disc set. The new version features bonus live tracks recorded on the group’s tour behind its sophomore studio effort, “III”
CHICKENFOOT’s most recent touring lineup included legendary drummer/musician Kenny Aronoff, who was filling in for Smith while Chad was on the road with RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
“III” sold 42,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 9 on The Billboard 200 chart. The band’s self-titled debut opened with 49,000 units back in June 2009 to debut at No. 6.
