David Lee Roth has posted a new episode of his online series “The Roth Show”. The 25-minute video, which can be seen at his newly relaunched web site DavidLeeRoth.net (click on “Hit Me” to start the clip), features the VAN HALEN frontman talking about the history of Los Angeles car culture, including the size of tires found on monster trucks, custom car builder Ed “Big Daddy” Roth (no relation) and the importance of low riders among Southern California’s Latino population.
In a 2013 interview, Roth explained that “The Roth Show” started off as an experiment. “You can prop something up with your famous name for a day or two,” he said. “But does it really hold water? Let’s see if a new idea really has a chance. Inside a matter of weeks, it really caught fire.”
The final show of VAN HALEN’s U.S. tour took place on October 4, 2015 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
The trek was VAN HALEN’s first since an aborted North American run three years earlier in support of its then-new studio album, “A Different Kind Of Truth”.
Out now is “Tokyo Dome In Concert”, VAN HALEN’s first-ever live collection featuring Roth, despite numerous pro-shot concerts from the band’s original heyday being heavily booted for years.
