FOO FIGHTERS have canceled the remaining shows on their European tour in the wake of the series of terrorist attacks that rocked Paris, France Friday night (November 13).
The band has issued the following statement:
“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour. In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can’t continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.”
FOO FIGHTERS were scheduled to perform in Paris on Monday, November 16.
At least 80 people were killed at the Bataclan concert hall where EAGLES OF DEATH METAL were performing.
The total number of dead is 128, though the death toll is expected to rise as the situation becomes clearer.
French president Francois Hollande blamed Friday’s attacks on ISIS, calling it “an act of war” by the militants. He said it was planned from the outside — “with inside complicity.”
“When the terrorists are capable of doing such acts, they must know that they will face a France very determined,” he said.
